Someone once asked Stephen King why he wrote such grim and scary stories. Here was his answer: "What makes you think I have a choice?" The best thing about being a writer is that it's what I'm built for, it's what I'm made for. In a sense, I don't have a choice. When I don't write, I feel restless and distracted. But when I do, I feel alive again.
