Goodreads asked I.G. Roberts:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

I.G. Roberts I would have to admit this is quite difficult to answer. I've always been an avid reader, especially of Sci-Fi. On top of that, I work as an Engineer in the aerospace industry. I have an hours drive each way when I go to work so my mind just free wheels. I started building a story in my head and decided to see if I could write it. Originally, I planned the story to be one book but I quickly realized the scope was far too broad for that so it morphed into a trilogy then four books in the series. As a heads up, I have lots of ideas for future books.

But, back to your question, as I said, I am an avid reader, and will read nearly anything. In addition to science fiction, I like reading about Military History, Thrillers, scientific articles. All this information seemed to gel together and the series was born. I hope this answer is adequate.
