Do you think Ingrid is a sociopath, born without the ability to empathize with others, or do you think she is a more complex character? I lean to the "more complex" side. I think she is an aesthete, that she interprets everything that happens in her life through her philosophy of life, which filters out a lot of normal human responses and leaves her seeming to be a sociopath.
