Hi Vineet, I really like the concept of your book "HARAPPA Curse of the Blood River" in 1st glance but at the same time I am a bit skeptical as well. Its because these is a visible trend of mythological/historical fiction after Shiva trilogy but most of them are quite disappointing. So my question is what is so unique about this book or what a reader can expect from this?

Vineet Bajpai Hi Avinash:

Thank you for writing-in.

I am hoping you will find a refreshing change in HARAPPA. While I would not want to comment on books like the Shiva Trilogy, I must say that most work being done in the mythological/historical fiction genre is leveraging existing mythical or historical characters. Be it Lord Ram, Sita, Shiva, Karna, Ashoka...it is just interpreting, reinterpreting and spinning different content around known figures. I would not call that pure, creative fiction.

With Harappa I have taken a mythological+historical backdrop, but have created absolutely new and powerful characters that will stay with you for a long time. Moreover, while there is an elaborate mythological+historical setting, the book is also a modern-day thriller. There are two eons unfolding in parallel - 1,700 BCE Harappa and 2017 Delhi, Banaras and Paris.

I am sure you will love it. Over 50 readers have rated the book 5-star on Amazon. I hope you also enjoy the book equally. :-)

Thanks again
Vineet
