Goodreads asked Barb Warner Deane:

How do you get inspired to write?

Barb Warner Deane It varies. On The Homefront started with an idea I got from a visit to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France and the research I did after that visit. Killing Her Softly, my Fall release, came to me in a dream and merely needed flushing out. My current work-in-progress, a sequel to Killing Her Softly, came from an actual event that happened in my home town of Watkins Glen, NY. Ideas come from everywhere, the trick is making them into a compelling story.
