I'm from Ottawa. Is there a place I can get a listing of all who worked at the factory? My mother died young... when I was older, my aunt- her sister, gave me an article about the 'radium girls'.

Hi Barb. I think we may have been in touch by email since you posted this question. Sadly there is no complete listing - the records just don't exist. The National Archives holds some, e.g. a list of those present for the company photograph in the 1920s, and lists of those that Argonne was able to track down for testing, but the lists are not exhaustive. The women are also represented by numbers, and you really need to know the number of the party in whom you are interested before you can pull up any further files.

Thank you for writing this book. Years ago in the 1980s I took care of a patient who had been a radium dial painter and lost her arm in her 20s because of it. I always remembered her because it was such an unusual thing, and curiosity about others that did this kind of work led me to your book. I immediately recognized her. It was truly horrifying to see how many others were sick or died from dial painting. No ? here
