Hi Whitney, sorry I didn't answer this sooner, somehow I managed to miss it! You might have already worked this out on your own... :)
For continuity sake, its probably best to read the Valiant Knox books in order. However, I have tried to write them so that if someone happens to pick up book 2, 3 or 4, then they won't be completely lost. The stories themselves are standalone, but occasionally things will be mentioned that happened in previous books.
