asked:
Do you recommend start reading Stephen King with this book? Im not used to horror novels and the only novel I read from him was The Cif of the Werewolf, which wasn't scary at all. I wanted to start reading him, so what do you think?

I've actually never read a King novel and I started with this one. I'm glad I did. I don't feel overly committed because the stories are so short so it's made me go in with more of a casual approach. My expectations aren't too high and sometimes high expectations can ruin something. It's given me a taste of how he writes and I'm enjoying it. I'll pick up a regular length novel when I'm done with this collection.

Stephen King is a master story teller. His character development is what draws me into his books. These stories are good, but his full length novels are better. My favorites are "The Green Mile", "The Shining", "The Dead Zone", "Firestarter".

no... start with the Shining or Salem's Lot... this book of short stories did not do anything for me... If you want to get a true sense of Mr. King, I would start with the ones I suggested.
