At the very end, are we meant to believe he killed the antagonist's final wasp form? It was last described as cut into pieces, buried in sand beside the water, but still moving around of it's own volition. The lack of a conclusive ending makes our protagonists' arcs much less meaningful. I don't need all of my loose ends tied up, but this was kind of a big one.
Jerry I think he ended her, which is why going tomSF is his next step.
