Mark Lawrence:
I was wondering if Nona from Red Sister was inspired by Vaelin Al Sorna? She seems like the female version. Not that I am complaining. I loved Blood Song and loved Red Sister equally. So far this year Red Sister is hands down my favorite book.
Mark Lawrence
Well, the answer to that is a solid "no" as they are to my mind very different characters.
You would be on more solid ground to ask if the general thrust of that book was an influence. At which point I would aim you at this interview:

DJ: What were some of your influences for the Book of the Ancestor trilogy?
Mark: I always find that one a difficult question. I don’t have any clear (to me) influences, though I must admit that listening repeatedly to Enid Blyton’s Malory Towers series (written in the 1940s about a posh girls’ boarding school) with my daughter may have steered me into the all-female “school” setting. It is very different from Malory Towers though. I guess it must owe something to The Name of the Wind, Blood Song, Ender’s Game, A Wizard of Earth Sea, and even Harry Potter!

Mark Lawrence:
Hi, love your books! Just finished The Girl and the Moon, so will work at avoiding spoilers. I know you've said you don't plan and can't say whether you'll set more books in the Ancestor world and there are some resolutions in The Girl and the Moon. It's hard to leave friends though, so would love to see it all play out. "Nothing's ever easy." Would you consider it?

Hi Mark I am currently reading The Liar's Key and regarding the Wheel of Osheim (mentioned also on the Prince of Thorns series) can't help to think it's actually the Large Hadron Collider!! Am I right? On a second note, I like how the whole setting revolves around the power of will, would you say some persons are born with more willpower than other? or is it something acquire along the way? Thanks!
