Goodreads asked Larada Horner-Miller:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Larada Horner-Miller When my Mom died four years ago, I wrote poetry in response to my loss and shared it with my therapist.

After one teary night of reading my poetry to her, she said, "Please promise me that you will publish these poems so my daughters can read them when I am gone."

That convinced me I had to do it. It took four years to do it, and at first it was going to be only about my mom, but realized the universal loss is of both parents, so I added my process around my dad's death.
