Devil in the White City is an excellent book if you're interested in the second world's fair in Chicago and how it influenced a lot of today's infrastructure and culture. It's a very interesting book about that. However, while Holmes is part of the book, he's definitely not the author's first, or even second, concern.

Devil is heavy on architectural/historical information and scant on actual information on HH Holmes. I found this book a better read for learning about HH Holmes and his crimes.

No, but you should read it anyway!
