I've been looking forward to reading this book for quite a while now but to my dismay, a reviewer mentioned that this book includes the subject of cancer. Normally I will not read anything that has to do with cancer at all. How deep does the writer go into that subject? Thanks.

It helps build our sense of worry and dread but is not core to the overall plot. If one is sensitive to the topic, that literary dread might prove pretty uncomfortable.
