Hi Heather! I'll Meet You There was on my Goodreads "To-read" list forever, and I finally got the oppportunity to read it recently. It completely exceeded my expectations! I was just wondering if you based the story off true people or events in your life? Because I always heard it's easier to write about things you know, and you formed the lives of Josh and Skylar so elegantly that I felt you had to understand them!

Heather Demetrios Thank you so much for reading! I think that it's *sometimes* easier to write characters that are based on your own life, but not always. Like Sky, art was an escape for me out of a difficult home situation and out of the town I lived in. So I definitely drew on parts of myself for Sky. Josh is his own guy, but I was inspired to write a character dealing with PTSD because my dad is a Marine with PTSD, so I've seen firsthand how awful it is. I did a lot of interviews and research to create him. Mostly, once I got to know Josh and Sky, the rest of the story eventually came together, with very little of it being from my actual life.
