I reread the last scene or scenes I wrote and that will generate ideas as to where to go next. If I'm really stuck (not often happens) I go back to my character's profiles and look at their objectives - who do they want to be or achieve. I also create a 'Where Are We Now' sheet which summarizes the characters journey thus far in the story. That immediately suggests what needs to happen next ...
