I'm always more than ready for my favorite authors' next books ... But ... With a small bit of guilt, I admit that when looking to read something from a writer I've not tried before, the cover art does influence my next-book-choice almost as much as the paragraph to entice me in. Do you have a similar style in choosing your artists? ... A few tried-'n-true favorites? ... Or as open as choosing my next book?
Mark Lawrence
The great majority of books I read are sent to me by publishers or by the author themselves, and I only manage to read a small fraction of these. The reasons for choosing one above another are normally to do with how well I know the publisher or author.
Books I actively seek out tend to be because they are famous and I want to see what makes them so popular. Since I live in a household of fantasy readers we generally have those on the shelf already. So the front cover has essentially zero role in my choice, and I never read the back cover.

Hi! I hope you're well. I feel the need to ask this question for the sake of my tenuous grip on sanity; you've said before that the Broken Empire could host a few more tales yet, and aside from Jalan, Jorg and his road brother’s tales, do you think you'll spin some more gold? I could gush about how much I love your writing and how much I've so far enjoyed following it, but I hope that's implied with the question!

Hello, So I've read all of your trilogies and the Girl and the Stars, and now I have a hole to fill. I'm picky with my reading I found out, and it's your (poetic) prose that hooks me and how it can describe these little truths of life. Sometimes you remind me of David Mitchell, another author with a love for language. Could you direct me to authors you think I would like?

Hey Mark! Love Love Love the Prince of Thorns series. And the ending! So I'm just starting the second book of your second series. I know it was a conscious choice to lighten the story with a tongue in cheek narration.. Or perhaps he just spoke to you that way? Lol Couple questions: how have you found the feedback vs a grittier tone? The story is no lighter than the Prince series, but the tone is altogether diff.
