Rhonda
Rhonda asked Martha Hall Kelly:

As a book lover and retired history teacher, I read a lot of books. Some good, some not so good. Every once in a while I read an outstanding book. Then there is the "Lilac Girls. Your book has touched me like no other. The inspiration of Kasia and the others and the horrid "how" of Herta. . It is quite simply the best book I have ever read. What happened to Herta after she lost her license?

Martha Hall Kelly Hi Rhonda, I'm so glad you enjoyed the book-I love your line "The horrid how of Herta." Herta became a broken woman once Caroline Ferriday and company fought to have her medical license taken away. She never married and became a bit of a recluse.
