Dear Mr Delaney, I first want to thank you for the Spook's books, they've been such amazing friends to me growing up! I was wondering how you came up with the strategy of mixing both real places with real witch history and fictionnal elements. I would especially love to know more about the way you decided to get inspiration from the Pendle witches. Are the trials still a well-known part of Lancashire folklore today?

I did quite a lot of research into the real Pendle Witches and read Pott’s account of their trial. In the end I decided to throw it all away and create my own witches such as Grimalkin. All the witches came out of my imagination but I did draw from Lancashire landscapes and folklore.

Hi! Dumb question, but is the Aberrations series and the Arena 13 series set in the same universe as The Wardstone Chronicles? I’ve read The Wardstone Chronicles and The Starblade Chronicles, but what should I read next? I really want to read Brother Wulf, but I really don’t want to skip over anything!
