How do you get inspired to write?

Ty Strange Good question. For me it's as simple as trying to answer a question that has vexed me for a period time. That question could be as simple as "What if they did this instead of that?" or "Why are things this way?" Of course that is just the basic element, and from there, no matter how I decide to answer the question, either through the characters themselves or my own vision, the story and plot seeks to bring it to light in an entertaining and relatable way. Additionally, I have found that the movies and books that I enjoy the most have stories and plots with a cathartic experience from which I derive much satisfaction. Untangling a messy story often gives rise to a satisfying conclusion.
