Read a lot and write a lot. Don't worry if the stuff you write at the start isn't good. Everyone was terrible when they started. In terms of books to check out, I'd reccomend On Writing by Stephen King, Into the Woods by Thom Yorke, and Zen in the Art of Writing by Ray Bradbury.
