So happy to hear it's one of your favorites. It's been many years now, and it's hard to go back and track where I was or what I was doing when this story jumped into my imagination. I live in Cambria and was, at the time, doing a lot of house-sitting in Santa Barbara, so that's how the location get into my head. Once upon a time when I was much younger I took a few hang gliding lessons. Other than that I have to say it came straight from the ether as pure imagination.
