Goodreads asked J. Mercer:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

J. Mercer I read! Or edit :) Sometimes a brain is worn out and needs a little break. I think of writer's block more in that way, and usually after reading a good book or two I'm re-energized to get back to my work-in-progress. If it's more that I'm stuck, I'll plot graph the draft again and usually find the reason - then even if I don't see the solution right away, at least I have a problem to solve.
