How do you get inspired to write?

Michael Goldcraft I try to keep track of ideas that pop into my head. I ask questions such as: What if? What is the bad guy up to? What is this character's greatest desire? What is the inciting incident that causes my protagonist's life to be rocked, and how will he or she get stability back? Robert McKee's book "Story" is great. I use it as a teaching text sometimes.
