Is it just me or is Into the Water hard to read because its so jumbled with all characters? I can't grasp the whole plot because I am always confused where its going.

I'm listening to the audio book so I can't really flick back through pages to check who is who and how they relate to the story. I'm finding that some of the characters are not very strongly differentiated and the voices they are given in the audio version are not varied enough either, so it is adding to my confusion. I will find a list of characters, as suggested, as I'm sure that will help. (less)
