Is it just me or is Into the Water hard to read because its so jumbled with all characters? I can't grasp the whole plot because I am always confused where its going.

I usually read a book like this within 2-3 days tops; I've been reading this one for over a week and only 30% finished, because every chapter is a new person and I get tired of referring back to refresh my memory, so I set it aside for the night after only reading a couple of pages. (I am using the table of contents as a reference; it helped, especially with the boy Josh and his mom, as the last names helped reestablish their relationship in my head.) I remember reading The Girl on the Train in just a couple of days, and while that book went back and forth with chapters also, at least the number of people was a bit more limited. Glad to know it's not "just me..."(less)
