Goodreads asked James L. Thane:

What books are on your summer reading list this year?

James L. Thane Funny you should ask! Very shortly, I'll be packing a box of books to take to the lake for the summer. Among newer books, I'll be reading T. Jefferson Parker's Full Measure, August Snow, by Stephen Mack Jones, The Thirst, by Jo Nesbo, and Dark Fissures by Matt Coyle. I'll also be reading the new Lucas Davenport novel from John Sandford and the new Spenser novel from Ace Atkins. Since I'll only be forty-five minutes away from Glacier National Park, I'll also be taking Christine Carbo's new Glacier Park novel, The Weight of Night.

I'll also be taking a few classics to re-read, including one or two of Lawrence Block's Matthew Scudder novels, Trunk Music, by Michael Connelly, Client Privilege, by William G. Tapply, and Money Shot, by Christa Faust. I first got turned on to crime fiction while reading my father's old Perry Mason novels while up at the lake and so I'll take a couple of those for sentimental reasons.

Finally, I always take a couple of Montana history books to read while I'm up there. This year I'll be taking Young Men and Fire by Norman Maclean, and my all-time favorite, Montana, an Uncommon Land by K. Ross Toole.
