Being a builder of worlds. Losing yourself in a place of your own making and spending time with characters you create and become fond of - both good and bad. I sometimes think I love my bad characters even more than the good ones! Being able to work from home and write when I want to. No one is going to stop me if I write all night, or have a duvet day with a pencil and notebook. And all the reading you do, all the things that inspire you like going to the cinema, wandering around interesting places - counts as work. What's not to like? Writing is hard work, but I love my life.

I'm reading your Magic series with my 5 year old daughter and I would like to know if the books need to be read in a certain order (in total or within each animal group) or if they are standalone novels just with a reoccurring animal character? It's a pet peeve of mine to read books out of order if they in fact are written as such. Thanks!
