Thoroughly engaging and interesting read. Thought provoking and has stayed with me for weeks since I have finished the book. I hope Knight is doing ok living as he now does. Do you think he will one day disappear again?

Thank you for the kind words Allison. I too hope Knight is doing okay. I no longer keep in touch with him, but I believe that he has carved out an acceptable existence for himself. Certainly not as fulfilling as his life in the woods, but he is also (as far as I know) not breaking the law either. I sometimes think that he will one day disappear again, but I honestly don't know -- he's in his 50s now, and it requires a lot of energy and effort to remain in the woods, especially in winter. But if I do find out that, one day, he has simply vanished again, I believe I will smile warmly and I know I will wish him well.

Hi Michael! Thank you so much for delving into this story the way you did. This is the most fascinating modern true story I've read in a long, long time. Dude is a genius. What an amazing story, thank you for telling it. Were there any other little details that maybe didn't make the book, but you can share? I can't get enough of this story; the scope of what Mr. Knight did is mind blowing.

I too just finished TSITW, and quite enjoyed it - especially the first few chapters where events unfolded 'in real time', almost like an adventure; this really set the scene and created even more interest in the backstory. I understand you're not contacting Chris Knight for now; do you know at all if he or his family have seen your book, or what their thoughts are about it? Are you curious? Or removed?
