comedy ends in tragedy why do you think this is? i started the " red queens war" series for the comedy but it soon got emotional (and thats not bad) oh there was still a lot of comedy but as the characters bonded you rely began to feel for them i have noticed this in a lot of books comedy turned to an emotional often tragic story why is this and why do you think its so effective?
Mark Lawrence
I think The Red Queen's War was emotional from early in the first book. Snorri's tale is pretty tragic. Perhaps it just feels that way to you because as you grow more attached to the characters you feel their struggles more, but funny lines can be funny without needing much context.

I loved Jorge and that story line, and I can't wait to finish us with Jal. The best part of your work is the intense serious story and then Bam! Something so ridiculous that it has me laughing like a crazy in the break room. My husband and I joke about getting a bigger bear all the time. do you find yourself laughing at your comical moments when you write them? What do you do for inspiration to put a bit of levity in?

Will you give up your day job to become a full-time writer? Maybe you don't need to, as I've seen many of your comments suggesting how easy it is to find a little bit of time each day to write. But imagine your output if you could just write every day instead of, I don't know, ripping the mask away from the universe to expose the face of god. (That's what physics is, right?)

Hi, love your books! Just finished The Girl and the Moon, so will work at avoiding spoilers. I know you've said you don't plan and can't say whether you'll set more books in the Ancestor world and there are some resolutions in The Girl and the Moon. It's hard to leave friends though, so would love to see it all play out. "Nothing's ever easy." Would you consider it?
