Sorry I've taken so long to reply! This question is very hard to answer truthfully. A book based on something in my life probably wouldn't be a mystery story, but one of the following:
1. A domestic drama about a woman whose life changes forever when she starts rescuing old and/or sick dogs. You could add a quirky romance - that part would be pure fiction!
2. Something a lot more complex and gritty that I have no plans to share on a public forum.

Hello Juliet, I just finished (and adored) “Den of Wolves”. I think you wrapped the series up fantastically, but one thing I’m still intrigued about is Conmael’s story which he told Blackthorn was “a tale for another day.” I wanted to ask you if you would ever consider maybe writing more about this very interesting character; perhaps a short fiction piece like your fantastic "Twixt Firelight and Water"?

Ms. Marillier, I know it has been stated many times before, but let me start off with how amazing and transporting your books are to us readers. Caitrin is my favorite character (along with Liaden) & HB is my favorite book; would you ever consider writing a book related to HB in some way? I would love to see what happened to Caitrin and Anluan. Thank you for your wonderful books, they all are great treasures to me.
