Goodreads asked Sally Kilpatrick:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Sally Kilpatrick All the things! Oh my gosh, I get to spend most of my day talking to my imaginary friends. Then there's the fact that I can wear yoga pants to work. Or NO PANTS. Once or twice a year I get to go to conferences and meet up with other people who talk to their imaginary friends and we dress up for some crazy reason--maybe to mix it up? Inevitably, I run into people that I have to fangirl over. Authors are my rock stars. Don't get me wrong, it's hard. Putting together a novel is like working a mental Rubik's Cube. Sometimes I wail and gnash teeth, but there's a great sense of accomplishment from creating something.
