Mwanamali asked Josh Lanyon:

Poirot or Sherlock? And why.

Josh Lanyon It's interesting that you ask. I was laid up for about four days and spent a lot of that time streaming Poirot. As much as I love Holmes (especially Basil Rathbone's Holmes), there is something comforting about Poirot. I think he's very human, and that's endearing. His little vanities, his little affectations, his struggle to remain courteous and gracious in the face of the idiotic things people say...it's amusing and sort of lovable (although I can't imagine having to live with him).

Holmes is so relentlessly, ruthlessly brilliant it's sort of tiring. Although I'm a big admirer of Laurie King's Mary Russell series (which definitely humanizes Holmes).
