I have been an Elizabeth Strout fan ever since Olive Kitteridge. I enjoyed, My Name is Lucy Barton, her last book. I cannot wait to read this. Are these basically a series of short stories that are inner connected?

The main thing I took away from the earlier book, "My Name is Lucy Barton" is that despite the hard life and abuse, (her mother beat her) Lucy loved her mother and her father.

But imo this third novel does not hold a candle to Olive Kittredge- interconnected stories, centering around one character, Olive, and the people in town whose lives she touched. The characters and events in "Olive Kittredge" are interesting, a bit twisted but quirky. The characters in "Anything is Possible" suffered to the extent that their stories were not thought -provoking; they made me want to look away.. (less)
