Kirsten asked Glynnis Campbell:

My husband and I plan on going to Scotland next year. What places would you suggest to visit? Love your books!

Glynnis Campbell Thank you! How fun--a trip to Scotland! There are a thousand different vacations you could take, depending on whether you like tromping through the breathtaking landscape, exploring the artsy culture of the city, researching history, seeing the rugged coastline. For a nice overview of all of those things (especially if you don't have much time), I always recommend Stirling. It has a magnificent castle and history and is centrally located, so you can visit stunning Glencoe with its huge mountains and waterfalls, yet get the taste of a major city. Another wonderful destination is Edinburgh, along the east coast, which is largely preserved from Tudor times and features seaside golf links. If you like nightlife, Glasgow is a more modern city with a lot of art and music. Read up, and choose your own adventure!
