Polly Holyoke Hi there, I love this question. You had me stumped for a few minutes. It really would be a problem for girls, just as park rangers don't advice women to go hiking in grizzily bear country when the women are having their period. When they get older, I suppose girls in the project could take some sort of birth control hormone that would make them skip their periods. How does that sound as a solution :)? Thank you for thinking about my books so carefully!
