Goodreads asked Jennifer Salvato Doktorski:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Jennifer Salvato Doktorski That's a tough question! As an author and writer, I feel like so much of my life is already an open book (literally). Quite the opposite of mysterious. But a few years ago when my parents were cleaning out their garage, they gave me a footlocker packed with a lot of my stuff from grade school, high school, and college. Ever since, that box has been sitting in MY garage, unopened. I feel like the opening of that box would be a good starting part for a story. I may not get an entire plot for a book, but there could be an inciting incident in there somewhere.
