A Goodreads user asked Jeaniene Frost:

When you want to write in the third person?

Jeaniene Frost I've written two books in third person: First Drop Of Crimson and Eternal Kiss Of Darkness, plus a few novellas in third person (Happily Never After, Devil To Pay and Reckoning.) For those stories, it was necessary. That's how I determine whether I write in third or first: if the story needs third, I write it in that way. If I feel that it's better told through first person, then that's how I write it.
