How do you select the names of your characters?

Paula Hawkins It’s an odd thing, naming a character. Sometimes they come to you immediately and you know: yes, that person is Danielle, Nel for short. Other times I’ll change a character’s name during the writing, because as a character develops their names no longer fits.
