What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Roman Colombo Have plans over plans. Not many people become well-paid writers. I'm not a well-paid writer, so don't just bank on that eventually happening. Have another career. For me, it is teaching, which is a great thing for writers. Does it lessen my time to write? Yes. But teaching writing WILL make you a better writer, I promise. Go through college, get an MFA, and teach and write. You'll be struggling financially, sure, but at least it's something you'll like, for the most part.
