Great question! Probably the biggest mystery in my lifetime happened when I was 12. My uncle's Navy fighter jet crashed into the ocean a no-radar zone during the Vietnam War. All they found were his boots and pieces of his jet. He was considered MIA, and his name is on the Vietnam Wall. (For years, I believed he had survived and become a spy.)
