Goodreads asked Kasey Riley:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Kasey Riley My life is kind of quiet, but every ride in the woods calls to me with possible mysteries or stories. It is why I love going for a ride alone from time to time...it helps me iron out stories I'm working on, and sometimes come up with new ideas. A rustling off the trail could be someone watching, or maybe an injured person trying to escape a villain. See? Mysteries and plots are everywhere - I just have to be open to them.

Sometimes in doing research, I come up with new mysteries. That is true of the research I did for Do Not Assume (due out later this summer). My husband and I both did DNA tests and the results brought us new family members...I found the children of the son my mother gave up for adoption in WWII and Jeff found a half-brother he'd heard rumors about. Either of these issues could bring on plot ideas.
