What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Leslie Wolfe Many years ago, my dog was lost without explanation. My Dad took her out for a walk, like he'd done many times before, and she vanished, although she was rather old and obedient at the time, not a rowdy puppy.

We spent the entire night looking for her, calling her name, driving in circles around the park, and nothing. No one had seen her.

Just as mysteriously, the next day someone brought her close to our house and released her, and she found her own way from there. Our neighbors saw that it was a middle-aged woman, but could tell us nothing more.

Who was the woman who returned our dog? Had she been the one who'd taken her the night before? Why? It's been more than twenty years since that night, and we still think about it.
