I rarely have writer's block unless I am working very hard on something else. I have a remedy on my website under writing tips. It suggests you try an authentic photograph or primary sources of a famous person and try to write about what you think that person may have been feeling during the photo session or painting. The bottom line is to start filling up the page with words.
