do you prefer the protagonist Bones you created for the novels or the quirkier but gentler one of the tv? i like the girl in the book. she seems more at home on the street as well as the lab.

Kathy Reichs TV is a different animal than books. When we sold the idea to Fox, they decided early on that they'd prefer a younger version of the character. And we cast Emily Deschanel in the role of Tempe, she brought her own style to the part. Most of the social awkwardness of TV Tempe was her idea. I think Emily has been a wonderful Tempe.
