One of my number one reasons I picked up this book was because I could strongly relate to Charlie and her feelings, and she could understand how I felt and could relate to so many of her struggles and fears. You must have had many other types of struggles growing up and during our life in general, what made you want to express this chapter of life of which you, myself, and plenty others can relate to?

Kathleen Glasgow I saw a girl on a bus once with fresh scars. I should have spoken to her, but I didn't, back then. Eventually, I ended up kind of writing a 400-page letter to her, and that turned out to be Girl in Pieces, and that was a letter to you, too, and to lots of other readers :)

I absolutely loved Girl in Pieces, How to Make Friends with the Dark and you’d be home now, I was just wondering what the inspirations for the latter two were. Do they draw off of real life experiences or were they simply about topics you found interesting or saw necessary to highlight in a story?
