I have had two abortions, once when I was very young and once not a young, and personally I did not relate to the way abortion was treated in this novel at all. The endless anguish over the choice especially reads like what someone who was raised pro-life and doesn't have first-hand experience would imagine life after abortion would be like. I didn't think this was a rant but for me it was definitely emotionally hollow.(less)
