My most recent book The List is about a society where people are only allowed to use a list of 500 approved words. I am bi-lingual. I speak Irish and English. As a minority language many Irish words are fast disappearing. That's where the idea came from. I started to wonder about how many words you need to have in order to survive. Essentially, that's what the book is about.
