Hi, we did The end of your life book club for our book club read and we all enjoyed immensly. So thank you for sharing this story of you and your mum at a most inimate time. You must be very proud of her. I just wanted to ask what books you would recommend for reading in 2017?
Will Schwalbe
I'm so pleased you enjoyed THE END OF YOUR LIFE BOOK CLUB. Yes, I was and am so proud of my mom. There are so many wonderful books out now. Here are some current favorites: SETTING FREE THE KITES by Alex George; PACHINKO by Minjin Lee; HOURGLASS by Dani Shapiro; EXIT WEST by Moshin Hamid. If you want a gem from the recent past, I highly recommend STONER by John Williams. But let me know what you've loved and I can suggest more!

I loved The End of Your Life Book Club and was inspired to read several of the books you discussed with your mom during her illness. I want to thank you for bringing Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner into my life. It is one of the most beautiful novels I have ever read and I don't know that I would have discovered it otherwise. Are there any other hidden gems with writing that exquisite that you could recommend?

Hello Will! This is Patti from Saratoga not Sarasota! Lol. I lost access to my email, so I have not been able to email you. I have just purchased "Books for Living" and am starting it this evening. I read the introduction last evening, and am already relating so much to your thinking. I am really looking forward to this read. Happy to connect here so not to lose touch?

Will, you may not remember me, but I will always remember you and the good care you gave in my stint with William Morrow and my book, "A Prayer for Children." You are a wonderful editor and I was so glad to see your name and hope you get this note. I am still writing byline columns...at the ripe OLD Age of 75. Whew! Best wishes from a big fan. Cheers?
