How young did you start writing and did you come up with parts of story lines before you decided to become a writer?
Shannon Messenger
I've always loved writing, and when I was in school, English/Language Arts was always one of my favorite subjects. But I didn't think about being an author until much later in life. I was kind of sidetracked by the fact that I loved to draw, and when I was young my dream job was "Disney Animator." But my hands couldn't draw the way I needed them to, so in college I switched to being a film major, and after I graduated I realized I liked writing books better than screenplays.
As for story lines, yep, I've been coming up with story lines my whole life. In the beginning I'd try to draw them like cartoons. Then I tried to write them into scripts. And now I write them into books. But if you're wondering if I had any of the ideas for the KEEPER books or the Sky Fall books when I was younger, the answer is: I wish. I came up with those ideas after I'd already decided I wanted to write a book, and was trying to figure out what I wanted to write.

Hi Shannon. I've been a fan of your writing ever since your first book came out. I love the way how you created your own world and so easily and just place your characters in it. you have inspired me to be a writer and I'm in the process of writing my book too! Do you have any tips or advice for me? And how do you find your editors and crew?

I love your books, and I can't wait till the 5th one comes out...Also, When Sophie and Fitz are reading each other's emotions and Fitz gets jealous is it because of his feelings toward Sophie, or Mr. Forked showed him something related to Sophie and his feelings toward her??

I have quite a few as I recently retread the series so here goes it: why did you want them to have blue eyes? What type of thing triggers an ability? What is hanging around Sophie's neck on the cover of exile and neverseen? And lastly the pathfinder fitz used in the beginning was black.... Aren't those magsidian pathfinders?
