Was Royce and Hadrian's jump into the river in The Crown Tower a nod to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? I think I read in Q&A that Royce and Hadrian were somewhat influenced by Butch and Sundance. When I read the river scene in The Crown Tower, I couldn't help but think of when Butch and Sundance were in a similar situation. Thanks!

You are so right about the fact that Butch and Sundance were inspirations for the duo. As for your question...no...but now that you pointed it out, I wished it was. Or more specifically, I'm not aware of any connection when I wrote it. For me it had to do with the fact that they were in pretty bad shape and using the water to "sweep" them out of trouble was an easier solution than an already battered Hadrian trying to carry a really wounded Royce.

Will the The First Empire, when the last book of it is released, possibly spoil the amazing denouement of the Riyria Revelations? I mean - hypothetically, if someone hasn't read the Revelations, and decides to wait several years and read all the First Empire books first, and only THEN pick up the Revelations, would that take the edge off their enjoyment that comes from all the surprise revelations in Percepliquis?
